I graduated from a small high school in California, showing and training horses, as well as playing both volleyball and basketball year-round. I got recruited to play volleyball at Sul Ross State University, where I was blessed to ride for the brand for four years. I held the title of Miss Rodeo Sul Ross State University 2018, a title that I used to help promote not only the sport of rodeo, but agriculture. I graduated in May of 2019 with my bachelors in Animal Science with a concentration in Agricultural Education. I moved from West Texas to do my student teaching in Decatur, and I fell in love with North Texas, which ultimately led to me accepting the position in Iowa Park. I am currently teaching Veterinary Medicine, Small Animal Management/Equine Science, Livestock Production, Floral Design, and Advanced Floral Design.
Agriculture has been a part of my life since I was born, and it brings me joy to continue to educate students with a hands-on aspect. Any opportunity I am given to allow students to use their hands to build something, rather than sticking their nose in a book, is a win for me. Even if students leave our program and choose not to have a career in agriculture, I hope that they still have an understanding of what agriculture does for them, and the world. I am excited for the upcoming year! If you have any questions on classes, becoming an FFA member or becoming a part of our outstanding FFA Alumni, please contact one of the FFA Advisors.
