Attendance Clerk IPHSmcates@ipcisd.net940-592-2144* Phone calls will not be accepted as proof of absence. (Only written documentation signed by the parent of licensed physician will be accepted). For example: if a parent calls the office and informs the school their student is absent, the absence will be unexcused until written documentation is turned into the office.* When returning to school after an absence, a student must bring a note signed by the parent or licensed physician that describes the reason for the absence. This must be done within three (3) days of returning to school or the absence becomes unexcused. *
*Written notes signed by a parent stating the reason for an absence will be acceptable for three (3) absences per semester. After three absences, each absence must be accompanied by a physician note or the absence is counted unexcused. In other words, if a student is absent more than three days in a semester, supporting documentation such as a statement signed by a licensed physician stating the student was ill unable to attend school is required for the absence to be counted excused.* The state rule of 90% attendance will be enforced. After missing more than 10% of class a student must attend make-up days or be denied class credit. NOTE: The first time a student is filed on for truancy, they will receive five days in ISS. The second time may result in 30 days of AEP.
