UIL is the governing body for interscholastic competition. Coaches and parents may find helpful information on the UIL site including rules for competition and sport, medical information for safe participation, and sportsmanship.
Required Physical Screening
Students entering into grades 7,9, and 11, and wishing to participate in athletics, tennis, or marching band, must have a new physical. Additionally, any student who has sustained injury in the previous year that has prevented the student from participating in competition or been prolonged, must have a new physical. Students with new or severe medical conditions may need additional clearance as well.
Physicals must be completed on the appropriate form which includes a page for the parent to complete a medical history, and a page for the issuing physician. Physical forms must be submitted to the district athletic trainer upon completion. The athletic department will share information regarding free physical opportunities from providers.

SPORTSMANSHIP
Wearing a HAWK uniform is a privilege and an honor. Student athletes, coaches, administrators, and parents are expected to abide by the highest standards of character and sportsmanship. UIL has published a manual with guidelines for all participants. Please take time to review these expectations with all spectators and students. Being a part of the HAWK NATION is special and we want to treat it as such. We expect all of our athletes and our community to uphold the highest standards of excellence. As HAWKS, we will always compete fiercely, in the nature and spirit of friendly competition.
