This is my 30th year teaching and coaching in the Texas public school system. I spent my first 24 years in the Wichita Falls ISD.
This is my 6th year in the Burkburnett ISD. I teach 11th grade US History and I am the Head Baseball Coach.
This class is a state tested subject. We will take this EOC test, STAAR, in April of 2024.

Grading Policy
60% Test 40% Quizzes/Daily Grades/Homework
We will have at least 2 tests and 8 assignments each 6 weeks
Absentee Policy
When a student is absent, they can go to Google Classroom and PowerPoints, videos and assignments will be listed so that student will not get too far behind. If a student is absent on a day when an assignment is due or that a test takes place, a “1” will be entered into the Gradebook until the student completes the assignment or makes up the test. Students will have as many days to make up the work as they missed. No penalty for finishing early.
Coach Scot Green’s Bio:
Coach Scot Green begins his 31st year in coaching and his 1st year as the Head Baseball Coach of the Hawks. Previously, Coach Green spent 24 years in the Wichita Falls ISD with 22 of those years at Rider High School and 6 years as the Head Baseball Coach at Burkburnett HS. He was an assistant baseball coach at Rider (1995-2006) under two legendary Texas High School Baseball Coaches: Steve Stone (Rider HS, Euless Trinity HS and Lewisville Hebron HS) and Kerry Hargrove (Rider High School). During that time the Raiders won the District Championship 6 times and only missed the playoffs twice. In 2005, Rider made it to the State Baseball tournament for the first time in School History, and for only the second time in WFISD's history losing in the State Semifinals. During that time Coach Green was fortunate to work with 2 current MLB players from 2003-06, Chase Anderson (Texas Rangers) and Ryan Brasier (Boston Red Sox). He was also a varsity football secondary coach from 1997-2006 and Co-Defensive coordinator on playoff teams in 1998 and 2001.
After the retirement of Kerry Hargrove after the 2006 season, Coach Green was named the Head Baseball Coach at Rider and served in that capacity from 2007 - 2013. During Coach Green's tenure the Raiders made the playoffs all 7 years. In his last 5 years his teams competed in 5 Regional Semi-finals (2009-13) , 4 Regional Finals (2009, 2010, 2011 & 2013), 3 State tournaments (2010, 2011 and 2013) and won the State Championship in 2011. The State Championship was only the 3rd in school history in any team sport and the first and only baseball championship in Wichita Falls ISD history. In 2011, Coach Green was named Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) and Texas Sportswriters Association (TSWA) Class 4A (Today 5A) Coach of the Year.
After the 2013 season, Coach Green stepped away from coaching to spend more time with his family and to watch his two children (Gage and Jordan) compete in College and High School sports while still teaching at Rider. In early 2014, Coach Green, and 2 former High School Head baseball coaches (Rob Johnson and Kerry Hargrove) opened Falls Baseball Academy in Wichita Falls and continued working and developing young area baseball players.
In 2017, Coach Green got back into high school coaching and replaced his long time friend Grant Martin as Head Baseball Coach at Burkburnett High School. Coach Green's Bulldog teams made the playoffs each year. In 2021 the Bulldogs went 23-9-1 and were Bi-District Champions for the 2nd time in 4 years. It was the most wins in Burkburnett in almost 20 years. Coach Green has coached over 35 All-State Baseball Players and over 20 Academic All-state Baseball Players.
Coach Green has also had success in the classroom. He was named to the Wichita Falls ISD West Foundation Teachers’ of the Year, three times while at Rider High School. He also was named Teacher of the Year at Rider High School on 4 different occasions. In 2014, he was named Teacher of the Year runner-up for the Wichita Falls ISD. Coach Green is a proud graduate of Midwestern State University (B.S.Ed. 1993) as well as Concordia University (M.Ed 2018).
Coach Green has been married for 33 years to his lovely wife, Lisa. They have two children, son, Gage (31) and daughter, Jordan (26). A Daughter-in-law, Ariel Green, a grandson, Hayes Green (3) and granddaughter, Mila Green (8 months). Coach Green's son, Gage, while playing for his dad at Rider, was named 2011 Perfect Game (PG) 1st team US All-SW Regional team and 2011(PG) High School honorable mention All-American. He was a 2-time 1st team THSBCA and TSWA Class 4A ( 5A today) All-State catcher (2010 and 2011). He earned a scholarship to play baseball at Oklahoma State University (2012-15) where he was named All-Big 12 1st team Catcher in 2014 and '15. He was also named All-Big 12 Academic 1st team in 2013, '14 and '15. In 2015, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
