Mrs. Kelly Jo Morris

Hello! I am a CATE teacher for the 2020-2021 school year at Iowa Park High School.

I was born and raised in a town, very similar to Iowa Park, called Gardner, Kansas. There I was active in everything possible, like student council, natural helpers, band, show choir, basketball, volleyball, and dance team. I attended Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX and earned my BFA in Theatre Directing in 2010. Following my graduation, I worked as an entertainer at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. If you love Disney and want to talk about it, I absolutely love to discuss it all day! In May of 2019 I earned my Masters in Ministry Counseling, again from Abilene Christian University.

When not at school, you can generally find me with my family or at Colonial Church where I lead a small group and help serve. My husband and I just welcomed a baby girl, Selah, on July 30th so I will be on maternity leave until October 5th but can still be reached by email.

My schedule this year is as follows:
1st Period: Instructional Practices
2nd Period: Principles of Education and Training
3rd Period: Conference
4th Period: Human Growth and Development
5th Period: Principles of Human Services
6th Period: Conference
7th Period: Principles of Human Services
8th Period: Human Growth and Development

A syllabus for each course can be found here:

Materials needed for each of my classes:
Writing utensil
Loose notebook paper
Folder or binder (to be kept in the classroom)
One box of kleenex for extra credit

Grading policies are:
60% classwork
25% tests and projects
15% participation

If a student is to be absent for a school event, they must come and gather work prior to the absence. If they are absent for an illness or emergency, they will be given one day per their specific absences to turn in all missing assignments. Tutorial times must be scheduled if a student misses for any reason, in order to make up missed work.

Please allow a minimum of five days after an assignment for grades to be entered.

I am excited about this school year and look forward to getting to know each of my students!
