Hi! My name is Dwayne Jackson and this is now my 25th year to be teaching American History at WF George Middle School. It sure doesn't seem like it, but it is. I'm pretty sure I'm part of the history that I teach. I have a very strong passion for all history, no particular favorite, and love to instill that same passion and love in the students that I teach.
I graduated from Midwestern State University in 1998, with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinisiology, with a minor in History. I coached football, basketball, and track for the first twelve years at the middle school. While I loved the coaching aspect, I decided to get out of coaching so I would be able to spend time seeing my own kids participate in their events as they grow up and to be able to spend more time with my family. This also allowed me more time to focus on my History class, also, which has always come first to me.
I have been married for 29 years to Kris, who is the librarian here at the middle school and have two wonderful children: my son Sean, who also works here at the middle school, and my daughter Kadey Anna, who is a Pharmacy Tech. I also have one grandson, Jack.
My hobbies are biking, hiking, camping, reading, and pretty much any sport or outside activity, especially basketball and tennis. History has always been my favorite subject since I was little, so I am lucky enough to be doing what I love.
