• Read, Read, Read!

Reading is fundamental in our society.  We have computers to do many things for us, but the basic skill of reading is absolutely necessary in everything we do.  In order for the kids to improve their reading skills, they must read.  The state mandated goal is for kids to be reading at least 90 wpm at the end of 2nd grade.  Please be sure your child reads at least 20 minutes a day.

Every night, your child will have something to read.  On Fridays, he/she will get an AR book.  They need to read this book several times before Monday.  They will be tested on that book Monday morning.  Monday they will get a new AR book.  They will take this test on Wednesday.  Please be sure they read this book nightly.  On Wednesday, they will get their Library book.  They need to read this nightly and bring it back on Friday (Library day).
