Gifted and Talented ProgramA gifted and talented student means a child or youth who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment and who:(1) exhibits high performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area;(2) possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or(3) excels in a specific academic field.Nominations can originate from teachers, parents or community members during the nomination period. Nominated students are nominated with a formal nomination sheet to be given to the campus office. Written parent or guardian permission is required to screen/assess a student. If a parent does not want his/her child to be screened, this information will be documented. Information on the Gifted and Talented Program (GT) is available in the counselor’s office.
