I'm Señora Rusk and I have been teaching Spanish for 19 years, 17 of those at IPHS. I am the head of the Spanish Department and will be teaching Spanish I Honors and Spanish 1411/1412 in conjunction with Vernon College. My college degrees are from Texas Tech University (BA Spanish, MS Exercise Sport Science) and The University of Southern Mississippi (MA Teaching Languages). Iowa Park is a great place to be and I am proud to play a role in the lives of the kids and raise my own kids here.
The Spanish department bases all tasks on the three modes of communication outlined by ACTFL: Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational. This year we will be focusing on developing proficiency in communicative tasks and skills. I hope to prepare all of my students for college as well as real-world success while inspiring them to seek fluency in the future.
