"Where are you from?" Now, that's a long story! Though I have lived in a variety of places including Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas, I am happy to say that I've come "back home" to Iowa Park. We lived here for seven years in the early days of our marriage, and we recently moved back. My husband, Tim, serves as senior pastor at Faith Baptist Church, and we have two daughters who make us very proud: Hannah who is starting her freshman year at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and Lauryn who will be a freshman at IPHS! Oh...we also have a very adorable (and fat! and old!) dachshund named Scooter.
I received a B.A. in Mass Communication (Journalism) from Southwestern Oklahoma State University then went on to complete my teacher certification in English, history, and journalism. I also completed a master's degree in education with an specialty in school library media. For the past six years, I have been teaching history and English and loving every minute of it.
This year I will be teaching English IV, Journalism and Yearbook at IPHS. I'm looking forward to teaching and learning alongside my students!
